Yr5/6 Tag Rugby Bring A-Game

On Thursday 7thMarch, 13 of our students travelled over to Bournemouth Rugby Club to participate in a Tag Rugby Festival. There were lots of other schools there with over 250 children attending the event. The emphasis was on fun and enjoyment as only 5% of the children there actually play rugby outside of school.

The festival was a great opportunity for the children to play matches against other schools but with the emphasis being on TREDS which stands for T-teamwork, R-respect, E-enjoyment, D-discipline, S-sportsmanship.

Although the weather was freezing cold with a very strong wind, the children showed these continuously throughout the day and Martha won the player of pitch 4 given by the Bournemouth club referees, due to her teamwork and organisation of our team.

A huge thanks to the parents who transported and an even bigger thank you to those who braved the cold and stayed and watched.
